A British Reggae pioneer Delroy Washington was the first UK Reggae artist to be signed to major record companies such CBS, Island and Virgin. Discovered by Reggae legend Bob Marley he was signed to Johnny Nash’s JAD Cayman Music along with Marley.
Whashington died fairly suddenly this week in London, according to the British magazine The Voice. He was one of the first British reggae artists to sign with a major music companion. He founded the Federation of Reggae Music UK as well as the Reggae Trade and Development association. He also played with Bob Marley & The Wailers.
