Albert Griffiths, iconic member of The Gladiators past away
Albert Griffiths just left us last night. He was the leader of the Gladiators since 1968 but with Parkinson’s disease he ended his career in 2005 being too disabled to tour and even sing or compose.
This situation was already a heartbreak for this great musician who had devoted his whole life to reggae and had written a great page of the history of this music through great classics like ′′ Hello Carol Dreadlocks the time is now Bongo Red ′′ or ′′ Belly Full “, but he was also a great stage artist full of generosity for his fans during his concerts around the world and especially in France where the audience liked him especially, and it was reciprocated. We’ve worked together since 1997 and had great moments on tours in Europe, USA, South America or Australia, but we’ve also made five albums, including the first recording for Mediacom in Jamaica ′′ Strong to Survive “. We will never forget your unfailing talent and kindness.
